About this site

Bits and Bobs is a place where I share random bits of my life – things that, for whatever reason, stand out and that I’d like to share with you. Mostly light-hearted, occasionally serious, it is a place for you to cleanse your reading palate, sit back and relax.

It was borne out of my love of writing. I’ve written in a journal for over 30 years and I’ve occasionally written some pieces of fiction that I’ve cautiously shared with friends. Their positive comments and feedback encouraged me to “go public”, so here we are!

About me

I currently live in Ottawa, Ontario, but I’ve been geographically around. I’m originally from St. Lawrence, Newfoundland and Labrador and have lived in a few other cities, provinces and even states in the US, too. I’m pretty sure I’m done with the moving now! I’ve been here for over 10 years and I’m still tired from the last move in 2012. 😉

I love travelling – from day trips to long-distance holidays. My hobbies include card making, knitting (scarves with nothing more than knit and purl stitches – ask my brother and sister-in-law about my less-than-successful venture into hats!), baking and reading. Oh – and, of course, writing!
